Handmade Care Guide

ur products are handcrafted in small batches and made with materials that deserve proper care.

Because many of our pieces use wood, metal, fabric, carved details, printed elements, or handmade finishes, small variations and natural aging may occur over time. This is part of the character of handcrafted work.

Please follow the care guidance below to help keep your piece in good condition.

1. Wooden Mug Care

Handcrafted wooden mugs should be treated with care.

To protect the wood, finish, and handcrafted details:

  • Hand wash only
  • Do not place in a dishwasher
  • Do not microwave
  • Do not soak for long periods
  • Dry carefully after cleaning
  • Avoid extreme heat
  • Avoid prolonged direct sunlight
  • Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners

After each use, rinse gently with mild soap and lukewarm water, then dry with a soft cloth.

Do not leave liquids sitting inside the mug for extended periods. Long exposure to water, alcohol, heat, or acidic drinks may affect the wood, finish, or surface details.

2. Decorative Axe & Display Piece Care

Our Viking-inspired axes and display pieces are intended for display, collection, photography, costume styling, or decorative use only, unless otherwise stated on the product page.

To keep your display piece in good condition:

  • Keep it in a dry indoor environment
  • Wipe dust gently with a soft dry cloth
  • Avoid moisture, rain, or high humidity
  • Avoid harsh cleaners, oils, solvents, or abrasive cloths
  • Do not use it as a tool or weapon
  • Keep away from children and unauthorized users
  • Store securely when not displayed

Metal-style or forged-style details may naturally develop slight changes in tone over time. This can be part of the aged character of the piece.

If your item includes wood, leather-like details, carvings, or decorative wrapping, keep it away from soaking, extreme heat, and prolonged sunlight.

3. Apparel Care

For Viking-inspired apparel, please check the care label on the garment first.

General care guidance:

  • Wash inside out
  • Use cold water
  • Wash with similar colors
  • Use mild detergent
  • Do not bleach
  • Avoid high heat drying
  • Tumble dry low or hang dry when possible
  • Do not iron directly over printed designs

To help preserve printed designs, embroidery, fabric texture, and color, avoid harsh washing cycles and high heat.

4. Accessories & Jewelry-Style Item Care

For Viking-inspired accessories, pendants, rings, bracelets, chains, and jewelry-style items:

  • Keep away from water when possible
  • Avoid perfume, lotion, sweat, chlorine, salt water, and harsh chemicals
  • Remove before swimming, showering, exercising, or sleeping
  • Wipe gently with a soft dry cloth after wearing
  • Store separately to avoid scratches
  • Keep in a dry place when not in use

Some metal finishes may naturally change over time depending on wear, skin chemistry, humidity, and storage conditions.

This natural aging is not always a defect. It is part of how many metal-style and handcrafted pieces develop character.

5. Handmade Variation Notice

Handcrafted items are not factory-identical products.

Small differences in wood grain, color tone, surface texture, carving depth, engraving depth, print placement, fabric texture, metal finish, or handcrafted details may occur.

These variations are normal and are not considered defects unless they affect the safe use, structure, or intended function of the item.

Each piece is meant to feel like it has its own character.

6. Storage Tips

To help protect your piece:

  • Store in a clean, dry place
  • Avoid damp rooms or outdoor storage
  • Keep away from extreme heat or direct sunlight
  • Do not stack heavy objects on top of handcrafted pieces
  • Keep decorative display items secure and out of reach of children
  • Store accessories separately to reduce scratching

Proper storage can help preserve the material, finish, and overall appearance of your item.
